Picnic
Song Lyrics
PICNIC ACTIVITIES
Find the following items and a picnic basket or something that represents a picnic basket:, play sandwich (if you don't have this you can make something that resembles a sandwich with fun foam or card board), milk (an empty milk carton will do), ice cream (an empty container will work), pie (an empty pie tin), water melon (often comes in a toy fruit set), pears, oranges, cake. The objects are great to have but if you can't find them just draw the different pictures that resemble them. Put the objects or pictures in front of your child and have them put them one at a time into the picnic basket as Captain Al asks for each food item. Also encourage the child to answer the questions. As with all other areas of language, vocabulary does not stand alone. Vocabulary is only one part of an elaborate interwoven quilt of communication.

Let's start this day
Everybody swing your arms
Let's start this day with a song
Let's start this day
Everybody twist your feet...
Chorus:
Let the music make you sway and say
Thanks for this day
Let the music make you twist and say
I'll do my best

Let's start this day
Everybody clap your hands...
